Too much drama!
Have you ever noticed that any online forums get totally off topic by weird people. Not only do they get off topic most get downright disgusting! The language is deplorable as is people's grammar. If public lynching was legal. the town square would be crowded. We are barbaric and judge before knowing the facts. One recent case a mother harmed her two children and then took her own life. Both women and men made such terrible comments. This poor woman was suffering from mental illness; most likely post-partum depression and had sought help from the medical profession to no avail. That doesn't excuse taking a child's life, but perhaps family, friends and neighbors could have helped to prevent this tragedy. What is your reaction when someone you know is suffering? Do you try to understand or help? Then onto more of the same subject.......................have you joined any Facebook buy and sell sites. There is more negative drama on these sites than actual selling. I was so furious with one site I had to withdraw. What is it with people??? Is it ignorance? I guess where there are people there will be drama.............too bad most of it is negative.

Picture this..........
Picture this..............tufts of multi-colored hair.........a reddish tinge here and there, some black spots mottled with gray around the edges. Not unlike a dog with mange. Imagine crooked buck teeth, a very unsupportive bra, no waist, but wearing a belt with bulges. A green flowered fortrel top with red and purple flowered lycra pants and red shoes finalize the ensemble. Someone actually wears this and looks like this. OMG!

Too long winter....too short summer!
I heard a flock of geese this morning....the air has cooled...the deck is littered with bright red leaves that the Mayday has shed.......when the alarm shrills I wonder if I set it for the wrong time....it's still dark........it saddens me to think that in a few weeks my world will be blanketed under snow.....eight long months underneath this icy arctic cover......
The children are restless and not settling to play; it's as if down deep within they have primal knowledge of what is to come.
The Sears Wishbook has made an appearance and though not foremost in my mind, I feel the urge to begin my Christmas lists.
As I watch the Blue Jays comical ritualistic peanut burial I have to smile as he places a leaf marker. I understand his need to prepare for winter as I peruse my salsa recipe. I have this need to see all the colorful jars on the counter, listening for the satisfying snap.
We carry on ................ enjoying the last few days of August.

Where is Spring/
Spring is late....more snow last night, but thankfully not much. Our summer are getting shorter and winters longer. We only have a window of about 14 weekends to go camping and enjoy the outdoors....weather permitting. We are inundated with mosquitoes and we get a lot of wind, much more than I remember growing up.
We don't seem to get as many song birds in our neighborhood anymore as the crows are taking over. I have read that if you have a large crow population there must be lots of garbage for them to be feeding on. I think there should open season on crow hunting.
Sounds rather depressing doesn't it?
At least the sun is shining today :)

Two seasons only!
We no longer have two seasons....just winter and if we are lucky, a couple weeks of mosquito infested summer. If this is a result of global warming I am certainly willing to do my part to reverse things.
We just watched "No Impact Man". What a depressing movie. This family went from living a life of opulence to living like homeless street people. Those of us who live in rural areas of North America do not face the same difficulties. We garden, we know how to cook rather than live on take out, we hunt and fish, buy local organic produce, chicken and beef from local farms. We grow things that we can freeze and can, pick berries to make wine....the possibilities are endless. We may live in a land of rednecks, but thankfully we didn't grow up in NY city.
